Walks and Forks offer relaxed long week-end breaks and tailor made holidays for small groups of walkers on The Quantock Hills in Somerset. Local expert Chrissie Amey knows the area intimately and will share her passion for this special place by showing you the less well-known walking routes. You will enjoy wonderful Somerset seasonal organic food at the B&Bs and luscious picnic lunches will be prepared especially for you. The walks cover about 8 miles a day and on the longer walks all your baggage is transported between venues by Walks and Forks partner, Carol Zeal. The pace is suited to each individual walking group and stops to admire the views and enjoy the natural landscape are encouraged.
We have selected your B&Bs for their ambiance, location and the quality of their food. Many are traditional farmhouses but with the modern comforts you expect on holiday. All B&Bs are set in beautiful countryside away from the noise of traffic and with good walking close to their doorsteps. Some of our weekends focus on the Coleridge Way which is a 36 mile walk from Nether Stowey to Porlock. Other themed activities include watercolour painting on the hills, talks about Coleridge and Wordsworth and visits to local organic food producers – have a look at the calendar to see what's available.
