Walks and Forks holidays welcome anyone who appreciates being in the countryside, whether or not you have much time to get there! We will enjoy showing you the beauty of the area by taking you to special places by less well known routes. Although a good level of general fitness is required to enjoy the walking you don't need to be super fit as The Quantocks rise to about 300m above sea level and there'll be lots of opportunities to stop and appreciate the countryside you're walking through.
Holidays start in the evening of the start date with a delicious supper in the B&B and they end after breakfast on the last day. Except on the Coleridge Way holidays when the last day ends around tea time. All holidays include accommodation and all meals. Only your preferred drinks with the evening meal are not included in the price.
BELOW ARE EXAMPLES OF THE HOLIDAY BREAKS WE CAN DESIGN FOR YOU. CONTACT US IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE OR DISCUSS ALTERNATIVES.
Prices are per person based on two sharing a room. A few single rooms are available although supplements vary depending on the B&B. Please contact us for further information if you would like a single room. Please see Terms and Conditions before booking your place.

Long weekends based at Arden Cottage in the north end of the Quantock Hills. This cottage has been lovingly restored and provides exceptionally comfortable accommodation. Local organic food is provided for all the meals. Walks from Arden Cottage will explore the hidden coombs and open hill tops where there are extensive views of Wales and Exmoor. Walking from Parsonage Farm, an exceptionally comfortable 17C farmhouse and organic smallholding with walled garden and apple orchard nestling in a tiny village above Nether Stowey at the foot of the Quantock Hills. An excellent start for walks through the deep coombes and up on to the open moorland to see the quintessential character of the north end of the Quantocks. Nether Stowey was the home of the Romantic Poets, Coleridge and Wordsworth, and where some of their best loved poetry was written. There is much to explore in this area.
Based at Hunstile Organic Farm in Goathurst where good locally sourced food is as important as the friendly ambiance of this comfortable 14C farm house. Walks from this farmhouse will take you up into the south end of Quantock Hills to explore the less well known routes and enjoy the varied landscape of woodland and open pastures with views towards the Mendip Hills and Glastonbury Tor.
Midweek breaks offer the opportunity to stay at Parsonage Farm for a special reduced rate. Four nights at this lovely farmhouse where comfort and good food make it an ideal place to relax in, especially in the summer when you can enjoy the garden. Walking from here you will be able to explore the Quantock Hills allowing longer to get to know the varied landscape. Hilltop walking can be combined with walks to the Bristol Channel.
Walking from Jacob's Barn, a beautifully converted spacious house in an elevated position with extensive views across the Bristol Channel and the surrounding area. A perfect base to discover the beautiful hidden Quantocks that inspired the friendship between Coleridge and Wordsworth. A study evening can be arranged that relates to the Quantock landscape and the poetry Coleridge wrote while living in Nether Stowey. A visit to Coleridge Cottage can also be arranged. No prior knowledge of Coleridge required.
Jacob's Barn is also a perfect base for finding the beautiful hidden Quantocks that inspire the artist in you. Walks from the Barn will be combined with workshops by a local professional artist and experienced tutor who will show you how to develop your painting and sketching skills in a medium of your choice. All abilities welcome.
